Family Involvement
Family participation in the treatment process is an essential component of the comprehensive treatment services provided by Kootenai Behavioral Health. Families frequently struggle with feelings of guilt, anger, hopelessness and despair. The decision to get help is often a difficult one. Kootenai professionals involve the family in the treatment process, when appropriate.

Treatment Process
Upon admission, a multidisciplinary assessment is conducted. Individuals receive a psychiatric evaluation, nursing assessment, physical examination and a full psychosocial evaluation. Youth also receive recreational and educational assessments. Together, these are used to develop an individualized treatment plan targeting the behaviors and symptoms that need treatment.

Treatment Team
At Kootenai Behavioral Health Center, treatment is a collaborative process that involves the patient, their family, and our treatment team. Our multidisciplinary team includes:
* board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrists
* psychologists
* masters-level therapists
* certified teachers
* recreational therapists
* certified chemical dependency counselors
* nursing and social service staff
